You don’t know me 🙂 But I stumbled on your blog while I was searching for, of all things, a kids craft for my children’s church lesson on Sunday. (I’m still not sure where the reference to 2 Corinthians 4:8 is on your blog; that’s what I searched for.) Anyway, I started reading your blog, and was so encouraged! I don’t know you, or anything about what God is doing in your life, but some of your posts were almost mirrors of my own thoughts and prayers the last several months. I’m a single young professional woman. I manage a network of non-profit pregnancy resource centers across the U.S. serving women facing unplanned pregnancy, working to help them have their babies instead of choosing abortion. I have read several of the books you recommended, and will be picking of several others on your list. 🙂 I also have nephews who I adore and don’t get to spend as much time with as I’d like.
I was in a really bad car accident in February and have spent the last several months in and out of the hospital, leaving a LOT of questions unanswered in terms of what God’s plans are for me and what He is asking of me in the coming months now that I’m returning to real life. Your most recent post was such an encouragement to me, and a great reminder of just how good our God really is.
Long story short, I feel like if we lived in the same town or went to the same church, we’d be friends. 🙂 Thanks for what you write. I’m just a random stranger, but was absolutely encouraged by your story, and will continue to read.
Best of luck at FRC! I have a few dear friends who interned there and they all said it was life-changing.
